This story has been covered for several months now but it's good to hear that they are now due to start excavating 'this month'! 8)

Also perhaps of interest to users of this forum was the recent discovery of RAF P-40 in the Western Desert in Egypt. Pilot ferrying the machine for repairs got lost and crash landed deep in the desert. Seems he gave up waiting to be resued and wandered off, never to be seen again.

I hope that both projects are real. You never do know in these countries.

The Spit(s) Mark is unusual and the Kitty would be a real gem.

I love the way that the last sequence here is of a banking Hurri IIC. Only right and proper ;)

I just read a similar newspaper story about this in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser, today.
It is an exciting story, even in places you would expect it never to be mentioned. :)

Now lets hope they concentrate their efforts salvaging other ww2 relics still out there.
