I saved a dog today!
Had 2 of my children and 1 grandchild over at the house this Friday.
Was outside on the deck, in the back of my house, looking out at Pearl Harbor.
My son's dog Annie was chasing my black & white cat Neko around the deck.
"Damn you Annie! I'll put the witch's broom on yer ass!" I yelled.
Annie retreated and settled down. Annie is a pent up apartment wild creature,
but not leashed, in my household.
She hates my witch's broom!
During all this barking and yelling in my household,
I saw a little dog, two houses over, peeking over a 4 foot concrete wall barking at our shenanigans!
"Arrf!" I yelled to the dog.
"Arrf! "Arrf! "Arrf! "Arrf!" the dog answered me back.
I pointed my finger at the dog. "Arff!"
Then the poor dog jumped over the concrete wall in attack mode.
Unfortunately for him, he was leashed, about 2 feet too long!
The poor devil jumped over the wall and was hanging over it, leashed and noosed by the collar. kicking his back legs looking for ground
that was 2 feet below.... No barking now. Just choking!!
I have seen a dog hanged to death in a similar fashion before. I did not like looking at it then.
So I jumped over the fence of my next door neighbor's yard,
ran across his yard, (dog was choking and shaking!!)
picked up the choking near dead dog, and tossed him into the (two houses down) dog's space.
Ah! I saved a life today!
I turned around.
My policeman next door neighbor turned around from something he was writing.. outside in his backyard,
"Hi Jeff!"
"Hi Mike. Did you see the hanging dog?"
"What dog? I hear dogs barking night and day. No big deal."
"What are you writing?" I looked over his shoulder.
"Uhmmm.."
"Never mind mind Mike. None of my business. I rescued a dog just now. You would not like your young daughter to see a dead dog hanging on that stone wall, would ye?"
