Sounds good Heinkill, but the video is flagged as 'private' for some reason.
"Ah yes, Michael (Parkinson)," Bader replied, "But these particular Fockers were Messerschmitts..."

Has anyone managed to download these videos complete?

When I try using "Keepvid.com" I get the video but not the text boxes, by these I mean the box that tells you what is being selected at the bottom left in start of vid 1 & 2.

I would like to save these for reference, but it looks like I need a different downloader to capture it all.

Any hints, or other good free downloaders to try?

That happens if the text is added post upload to Youtube, rather than saved as part of the original video.

A lot of people do it this way because it is easy to add extra text if feedback indicates it is needed for these sort of videos. Otherwise you have to go back into the origincal video file, edit and upload it again.

I'm not aware of a tool that enables you to rip both the video and the overlaid youtube comments sorry. Would also like to hear if anyone else knows of one!

Is it fraps or whatever that just piggy backs your monitors feed? It's probably a bit extreme, but if you where really desperate to have a local copy of the video, could you record it being watched on full screen?

... well, Hein, the videos are actually quite good, to be more precise, the few I looked at. Thank you, excellent work !
And nice choice on the music ...

Michael.
Nobody criticized the pilot for making that slow roll. American fighter pilots are supposed to have enough steam in their breeches to try something out of the book once in a while. The fact that he didn't make it was his own business.

Actually, the only Video I can watch is the one about the German SPC.
All the others are either marked as "This video contains content of Sony Music Incorporated. It is no longer available in your country" (Germany, in my case)
or "This Video is not available".
It's a pitty since the one I was able to watch was quite good...

I've just finished my "how to start SPC" tut vid but this damn vintage user interface changed resolution on the fly and the whole tutorial came out clumsy  I got all the source materials so I think I'll re-record it. Check out my youtube channel following my videos in the signature.

Edit:
OK, corrected version available now here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YhgAv7XmsTM
Please tell me what do you think.

Just downloaded the video. It will be a good one for my library. Also good to see when I downloaded it the text overlays are still present. The only thing that may improve it would be a bit of voice over describing the process as well..

I wish I could download Heinkill's video's with the text overlays. Hopefully Heinkill can redo his videos the same one day.

With my connection I can not view videos online. I need to download them. Also it is good to keep them for future use.

Thanks for the time you took to make it.

I use freeware CAMSTUDIO to make my tutorials and I do it on the fly! That is no editing, and no compressing. It looks like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vCGuV440y-I - the first 20 seconds shows what I mean:
- fixed region set for recording matching either youtube SD (640x480) or HD (1280x720)
- prepared title images are just opened in IrfanView and manually aligned by me with the recording region
- recording is paused when I need to show another title page or video overlay text
- used video overlay text I move out of the recording region so they are all over the place on my monitor when I finish recording
- the best part: CamStudio records in lossles codec that is accepted as is by youtube! It means that quality of my videos is a true maximum and no better quality can be achieved.

I'd like to add that if someone would write me text messages for my overlays like this:
If you want the most realism leave only "Take off" option selected.

To see lots of action choose Group 11 and then your squadron and aircraft of choice.. Mine are 610 sqdn and Spitfire.

Different squadrons fly different aircrafts and their variants sometimes. Refer to the game manual to get more information about specific differences, particularly between 1A and 1B variants of both aircrafts.

Press BEGIN to begin the campaign and prepare to press the PAUSE button as soon as possible. The button will be at lower left corner of the screen.
.
.
.
I could mass produce many more of such tutorials as long as they don't go into 3D world of BoB 2. If not that even a script like "show this, this, this and that in the following order" would be something.

Regarding your downloading YT videos without overlays - I would recommend you capture them with CamStudio instead of downloading.

I think any instructional videos would be good to help with the campaign, hope you do some more in the future.

I would think to capture the video with Camstudio it would have to show smoothly on your screen, not jerky due to buffering like on mine, or can you smooth it out later?

Such videos should capture and play OK (at least 25 FPS). Please contact me via PM if you need more details. I wouldn't want to go OT. Especially that HeinKill did a great job on the campaign vids! I've seen some of them.
