That in fact isn't a CTD but rather what I get for a screenshot of a Spit sitting on the tarmac highlighting your distressed prop.
As for space,,,I've only used 8% of 900 gigs.
To be brief,,,and tired of looking for a fix,,,this sim has been an unstble mess for me since 2005.
It's the only CFS I've had that is OK one day and the next goes to hell for no apparent reason.
Your skins are on my BOB short list. :)

What machine are you running on? This sounds like the
sort of thing that happens with patch 2.11 or higher
on a 32-bit machine which is only addressing 2GB.
BoB2 will crash into the top end of memory occasionally,
depending on what else is in the background, and
how complex the action is (100+ planes, etc).

Is it my machine,,,is it me PV?
or is it good old unstable high maintenance BOB???

In contrast,,,
I've dragged my favorite Microsoft combat flight sim along through three machines and eleven years.
During that time it grew from a stock size of 790 Mb to well over 6 gigs with addons from third party developers.
It's a little buggy and cumbersome but still very playable. In fact, just fired her up yesterday for the first time in two years.
It would easy enough to clean up this original install ,,,just time consuming. Instead,, I did a second install which is currently at 3 GB.
Decided I just didn't need 500 aircraft or 1000 missions,,,,200 and 500 respectively would be enough.

Now psycho BOB is currently at 1.51 GB and just loves to have me spend the time to get him to run smoothly.
Then, without warning and any addition addons or setting changes, a day,,,week...or month later, he'll decide to go to hell in a hand basket.

Like I was saying,,,,nice prop!

Venting on poor old BOB was just what I needed to start fresh and find out it was indeed human error.
Did a fresh install,,,a v2.11 update,,,the multiskin_v211 and,,,voila!

Oh.

Great. Saves me trying to figure out how it could be possible,
which could have been difficult.

Why are you going for v2.11 instead of 2.12? I would think
your machine would have no trouble with 2.12, and you get all
the campaign improvements.

I got this from a serious stockbroker:

Yesterday, when the market was down about 400 points, Barack Obama came out, trying to motivate the stock market, and said: “If I weren’t the president right now, I’d be buying stocks myself.”

Everyone immediately agreed with him and said that if he wasn’t the president they’d all be buying more stocks too

As with most of my life's failing, I could blame it on the Canadian whiskey. :|
In this case though it's because BOB is a &%$#@# sociopath!
Everything was groovy last night; had up to 60 planes in the air without a glitch!
This morn he decided to give the dreaded English Text is not responding and is unplayable!
Yeah I know,,,there are fixes for this,,,

PV,,,you may be please to know , as they say in Chicago ,,,or is it the song??? "I've been looking for fixes in all the wrong places"

Looking for solutions outside the sim, for example register cleaning or compatibility settings, was all for naught.
Internal settings were the apparent answer. For example: high water and weather give me a CTD every time,,,so give me weather.

One of the neat things about BOB is AI's unpredictability. Had a 109 completely blow on my second burst which startled the heck out of me. :D

HC - agree on 'blow up' startling one, especially if decent surround sound gives 3-D effect so sound passes to behind one.
Must be our age, like a near-head on with a taxi on a no- median highway never used to worry one.

In terms of unpredictability, I crit that the escaping A/C will inevitably climb and slow up, and then is easy to shoot - why not 109s dive and Spits/ Hurris go into a tight circle, and 110s go into a 'Lufberry' - aspects which were to their advantage when attacked. Read the books.

( mebee this done in ver 12, but I still do 11)

Hi HAZE,,,
Using your distressed Spits....very nice!
Only got one screenie before BOB went completely rogue again.
As so often happens,,,when my main install goes bad,,,so do my backups on a separate internal and the external hard drive,..... How is that possible???

Hellcat,

You should not have so many damned problems with BoBII.

Now, I use a Dell XPS 8100, similar, but older than your XPS 8700?
Here are my basic computer specs;

Dell computer XPS 8100

OS: Windows 7 - 64 bit
CPU: Intel Core i7 (Quad Core) CPU 860 @ 2.80GHz
MOTHERBOARD: DELL Model 0T568R
MEMORY: 8 GB (4 each Elpida, 2GB @ 1GHz)
GFX: ATI Radeon HD 5700 - 1GB memory / with AMD Catalyst 10.12 drivers.
SOUND: On board Realtek

Joy Stick: SAITEK X52
TrackIR: no

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

1st.
Where did you install BoBII?
I installed it into the default C:\Battle of Britain II directory. Using the 64 bit Operating System.

2nd.
What GFX graphics accelerator card(s) are you using?
Note! The GEFORCE cards have historically been better than the AMD/ATI cards for BoBII.
I currently use an ATI cards(s) set. For testing purposes using the least desirable manufacturer. :P About 3 years old?

3rd.
If... you are using an AMD/ATI graphics accelerator, then I strongly recommend that you use the (very old) AMD Catalyst 10.12 drivers.
These are the drivers that PV uses, and he is a hell of a lot smarter than me. I followed his advise, to the betterment of BoBII, and my benefit.

Two years ago I went on vacation for a family Thanksgiving get-together at my mother's house in Winnemucca, Neveda.
My son slept over to keep the house safe in our absence. Good lad. Glad to have you around the town! :D
When I came back home, he changed the ATI drivers to a newer version. Those newer drivers made BoBII run like crap! Not good.
I reverted back to the AMD Catalyst 10.12 drivers. and all is well again.

------------------------------------------------------
Some things to consider, when you are having problems.
Only PV and me around here, now to help you.
We are both free thinking Left-wing Liberal Progressives whom have no love at all for US Republicans.
We both actually believe that Evolution is a fact and not a theory!
We will help you, tho. As you seem to be an interested student of history and the Battle of Britain.

Aloha!

Thanks stick....asking me were I installed BOB gave me a hint of what might be the problem,,,, although I still didn't quite believe it.
But it's true,,,,the BOB backup in an internal hard drive salvaged from my last PC was somehow conflicting with my original install in default C:
Deleting it from that drive named "Data "E gave me smooth play again in "C" and even gave me back "K" which is the external drive. :D
"K" has always been a little twitchy but at least it doesn't interfere with "C".
