his emailed me
must say, never seen this before and I have memorised 99% of every BoB pic I have ever seen, which are numerous.

Anyone doing landscapes recognize the river formation- France or SE England? ( quite a large river )
Interesting how dark the canopy framing colour is - something I have prev done instinctively on my repaints
That has been one of my favorite pictures for many years. I used it on my desktop for a long while.
I do not know where the picture was taken, or what the river is.
Note the blue sky reflection on the surface of the river from air.
If you were sitting on the bank looking at it would probably look brown like a slow moving river of suspended mud witch many rivers are.

Hmm. The terrain looks very british, with the apparently
irregular fields surrounded by hedgerows, and meandering
stream, but it would seem somewhat unlikely that someone
would have the time and luxury to sit and take a colour photo
over enemy territory (from what? not through a 109 cockpit,
that's certain; leaning out the windscreen? I thought they
would rip off of opened). There are some regions of northern
France that have field layouts that mimic the british style, as
I have encountered them while looking through recon pictures
while working on french terrain. Here's an example, near
Audembert:
http://aerial.rcahms.gov.uk/database/re ... -000-823-C

...If you don't already know, you can search by image instead of by
text: 1) open a new browser window; 2)rightclick on the image in
question and either "copy image" or whatever to get the link pointer
to the image source; 3) use that to open the image in your new window;
4) open a tab to google in your original window; 5) select "image" in the
search in the google window (you will either have to start a text search or
use the little box of squares in the upper right had corner to find the
"images" option in a newly opened google search page); 6) with the window
showing the original image over top and right of the google image search
window, click on the image and drag it over the google search window,
which will alter to show a "drop image here" message. Doing this, I found
a Galland website: https://www.facebook.com/36berlin75?ref=stream
which seems to show that that image is of one of Galland's 109s - you
can see an image of the paint and marking scheme as well as the image
in question, and note that all the details match.

Nice find, Bf109 in background will be Joachim Müncheberg's who was Galland's wingman for most of the BOB (until the end of August) so that might put a date on it?

S!

Actually checking further the red heart on the cowling was the staffel badge of 7/JG26 which was where he transferred to in August, 'White 12' is much profiled as Müncheberg's plane usually flying from Gela in Sicily in 1941 hence the white Mediterranean fuselage band.

I did like this

note: you cannot take a screenshot with the muzzle blast as it dissapears - has to be done via a video capture afterward

Funny how myth propaganda was used to create morale among soldiers - we used to be told that Mugabe had Syphilis and would soon be dead, in the '70s. How wrong they were 40 yrs ago.

:) Hi Hazzie,
Yes the video is most definitely from Duxford :)
Lovely video, although it is quite a controversial subject of that Mk1 "restoration" ,not too much of the original remains i believe.

HC - the weathering is helava rough and random - look at some of the other screenshots, notably the sides of the Spits and you will see this randomness. Also see 3-4 posts above of 'My Spit'.
I mapped random PhotoPaint paint peel textures ( with scratched rubbing to decrease intensity and repeats)

Have been working on complete REPAINT of the Spit, from the rivets up for about 6 months now - with logical scratches and paint peeling.
One helava job and worse than the 109.
So, mebee in 6 months, can load the DXT files if you wanna use them. ( remember the weathered Spit prop - think you said you use it?)

I wish BoB2 had 'bump mapping' like FSX. Could really do som effective things then.

As a fan of weathered paints, I'll be standing in line when you're ready to share them.

Speaking of Microsoft,,,,here's a fine weathering job done in 2006 by a U.K. guy,,,,aka "cobrauk".

I must of missed your prop,,,,where can I find it?

HC - funny, never had sim CTD issues with Win 7, but see comments about this all the time?

Beware, your main drive (C) should have available at least 75% space, in my view, as if at say 85% it will CTD all the time with progs like 3-D S and flight sims.
Also good to use solid state drive - instant access

Did you try the spit skins?
