I've finally installed FRAPS 3 and have attempted to make a video following their guidelines i.e. record as .avi files (FRAPS split the recording into four 4GB files), compressed them using VirtualDub and stiched them together using Arcsoft.

However, the quality is poor http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/2879/bomber1movie.mp4. Can anyone advise on how I get a better quality output, please? Bucic your tutorial videos are really good quality - what software do you use to produce them?

Any advice gratefully received.

i think i see video mem issues. those black triangles are what i get after multiple frags as my memory gets low. that may be effecting the output. i find bobii really doesnt like fraps, it becomes quite unstable with fraps running. i usually use a process killer to free as much main memory as possible too before using fraps, which helps somewhat.

Thanks for that H.

I've been getting those black triangles even before I started using FRAPS; it happens when there are fires on the ground following bombing or when there's AA fire around - I think it's something to do with my video settings. I put some sceenshots on the forum a while ago and asked for advice but didn't get any! As you can see from my signature, I've got 1,536 MB of video memory.

The .avi files from Fraps are really good quality but huge, it's after I compress and save them in a different format that the quality deteriorates.
