C172 Trainer [FSX]

Post by Ddavis32200 »

I purchased the a2a c172 this morning. I downloaded the link and installed it. When I got into the simulator I had no sound. When I tried to start the plane, it wouldn't start as well as no sound. The menus for when you click "SHIFT 2, etc." looked like they were trying to pop up but didn't. Someone PLEASE HELP!

Hello,

and welcome to the forums. First up I ask if you can go over the FAQ here;
http://www.a2asimulations.com/forum/vie ... 08&t=35640

This is esp important as it sounds like your simulator is not setup correctly prior to the installation of our C172 Simulation. Make sure your FSX is fully updated with either the Acceleration expansion package or the two FSX Service Packs from Microsoft.

Also once you have FSX updated the latest Accu-sim updater to update your C172 is here;

thanks,

Oh yes and remember to restart your machine between installations as this is always a good idea.

Tried to reinstall service packs for fsx. Didn't work.

I also bought and downloaded the C172 Trainer yesterday. Installed into a known working installation of FSX Gold Edition w/Acceleration Pack. Updated the A2A product as described elsewhere.

FSX gets past all the "Loading terrain", etc, screens. Then I get a black screen rectangle in the upper left of my monitor, and FSX quits with a Windows error message ("Search for a solution", etc). All other aircraft work fine.

Have run the A2A diagnostic tool and emailed the .dat file. Hoping for a resolution soon.

Well, my C172 Trainer at least starts up now. I'm nearly 100% certain that I had the DirectX 9.0c product installed. At least that's what FSX said when I installed it (was purchased only a few months ago). I downloaded it from Microsoft and reinstalled it, and now things are working.

Hello,

Can you please try a simconnect reinstall from the Troubleshooting FAQ.

Thanks,
Lewis

Yes the latest Direct X9 libraries are a requirement for the simulator to work. Not to be confused with dx10 or 11 etc as dx9 is independent.

Thanks,
Lewis
