Hey, I worked on a similar one. Luckily mine is from PortugalRon Attwood wrote:EC-KKL is one of "thousands" (seems like it anyway) of C172s operated by Gestair's Flying Academy. This one is based in Seville. They have schools in Spain, Portugal and Chile. I picked KKL to paint....because.

Tim, do they really have Flying Academy on the top of the wings? Although I only searched for KKL, all the pictures/videos I found showed plain white.
Wasn't that tail fin a 'biatch?

Hi Ron,

apparently they paint their planes quite differently. The CS-DGX - at least - has the lettering on top of the wings: jetphotos.netRon Attwood wrote:Tim, do they really have Flying Academy on the top of the wings? Although I only searched for KKL, all the pictures/videos I found showed plain white.

Don't even THINK about finding a picture of KKL with lettering on the top, or I'll scream!Tim-HH wrote:Hi Ron,

I'll be getting this one
Re: Finished repaints
The first Greek one, SX-AEW of the Athens Aeroclub, one of my real life rides out of Tatoi AB:
Actually an older "M" model but the A2A 172 is the closest thing to the real thing, even though it is an "R".
Available at SOH:

and Avsim:

Update with tint strip on windshield here:

Real one:
The next one from me, SX-AEW of Dekeleia Aeroclub with tinted cabin glass will be posted after the patch, to solve the mapping of the landing light issue.

Re: Finished repaints
Okay, so my first paint to be made public (ever!) is actually my fourth C172 repaint. I have two others finished (C-GXNC, C-GBAF) but they needs some fixes before I'm happy enough with them to send them out to play. I have one other (CF-GRG) close to being done as well.
But this one I'm happy enough with. While browsing through Airliners.net looking for paints I liked, this one stood out, only because it looked like something that's had a very busy life. And after trying to minimize the dirt present in the repaint kit on my other repaints that I've been working on, I thought I'd run with it a bit here. IRL, C-FMXO is actually a 172B, but hey, it works.
I've played with a bit of paint peel and extra grime. I've also tried to play with the spec map as well as using custom fresnels to cut back on both the reflections and the specular highlights, as I feel old paint like this really shouldn't be that glossy. It's mostly worked, although I'm really no expert at that kind of stuff, so feel free to simply delete those files if you don't like 'em.
I really feel that it needs a 'used' interior, but it looks like there's a few different people doing a fine job on that kind of thing so I left it alone.

Re: Finished repaints
I like it! You did a fine job on making it look alive and used without going to extremes. I would definitely go flying in it as it looks like a trustworthy aeroplane.
