Hotkey for Radio Stack P3D v4

Post by KPWoodsong »

I'd like to assign a hotkey to change the view to the radio stack. I think it must be doable but I haven't found a way to do that in P3D v4.

Thanks

Hello,

Not sure you can set up a 'hotkey' as such without third party add-ons such as EZdok or Chase Plane. However, by default pressing 'A' twice will take you to a closer view of the radio stack.

If you open the aircraft.cfg file (Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons\A2A\SimObjects\Airplanes\A2A_C172) with a text editor and then find the following section:

Code: Select all

[CameraDefinition.001]
Title = "Instruments close / IFR"
Guid = {195EAB58-9E4A-3E2A-A34C-A8D9D948F078}
Origin = Virtual Cockpit
MomentumEffect = Yes
SnapPbhAdjust = Swivel
SnapPbhReturn = False
PanPbhAdjust = Swivel
PanPbhReturn = False
Track = None
ShowAxis = FALSE
AllowZoom = TRUE
InitialZoom = 1.3
SmoothZoomTime = 2.0
ZoomPanScalar = 1.0
ShowWeather = Yes
XyzAdjust = TRUE
ShowLensFlare=FALSE
Category = Cockpit
PitchPanRate=20
HeadingPanRate=60
InitialXyz=0, 0, 0
InitialPbh=26, 0, 0

[CameraDefinition.002]
Title = "Radio Stack"
Guid = {195EAB58-9E4A-2E2A-A34C-A8D9D948F078}
Origin = Virtual Cockpit
MomentumEffect = Yes
SnapPbhAdjust = Swivel
SnapPbhReturn = False
PanPbhAdjust = Swivel
PanPbhReturn = False
Track = None
ShowAxis = FALSE
AllowZoom = TRUE
InitialZoom = 1.4
SmoothZoomTime = 2.0
ZoomPanScalar = 1.0
ShowWeather = Yes
XyzAdjust = TRUE
ShowLensFlare=FALSE
Category = Cockpit
PitchPanRate=20
HeadingPanRate=60
InitialXyz=0, 0, 0
InitialPbh=24, 0, 13
You could replace it with this edited version of the same section....

Code: Select all

[CameraDefinition.001]
Title = "Radio Stack"
Guid = {195EAB58-9E4A-2E2A-A34C-A8D9D948F078}
Origin = Virtual Cockpit
MomentumEffect = Yes
SnapPbhAdjust = Swivel
SnapPbhReturn = False
PanPbhAdjust = Swivel
PanPbhReturn = False
Track = None
ShowAxis = FALSE
AllowZoom = TRUE
InitialZoom = 1.4
SmoothZoomTime = 2.0
ZoomPanScalar = 1.0
ShowWeather = Yes
XyzAdjust = TRUE
ShowLensFlare=FALSE
Category = Cockpit
PitchPanRate=20
HeadingPanRate=60
InitialXyz=0, 0, 0
InitialPbh=24, 0, 13

[CameraDefinition.002]
Title = "Instruments close / IFR"
Guid = {195EAB58-9E4A-3E2A-A34C-A8D9D948F078}
Origin = Virtual Cockpit
MomentumEffect = Yes
SnapPbhAdjust = Swivel
SnapPbhReturn = False
PanPbhAdjust = Swivel
PanPbhReturn = False
Track = None
ShowAxis = FALSE
AllowZoom = TRUE
InitialZoom = 1.3
SmoothZoomTime = 2.0
ZoomPanScalar = 1.0
ShowWeather = Yes
XyzAdjust = TRUE
ShowLensFlare=FALSE
Category = Cockpit
PitchPanRate=20
HeadingPanRate=60
InitialXyz=0, 0, 0
InitialPbh=26, 0, 0
...Which would place the radio stack first in the list, so a single press of 'A' effectively becomes a hotkey to view it.

Thanks,
Nick
