Cannot find Hanger of any other screens using shift HELP

Followed start procedure... nothing works.. all switches in correct position but nothing. tried find if it needed battery but I can't get anything with shift 3, 4, or any other number.
Have installed twice and have just re loaded fsx as well. stock aircraft working ok. Please help as I only purchased today and have spent hours trying to solve this.

What version of FSX are you running, or are you using P3D?

You might need to install simconnect as noted in the troubleshooting FAQ thread in the 172 tech support forum. This is a requirement for the sim to work and not all versions of FSX install this automatically. P3D doesn't install it by default either. This should resolve the symptoms you are seeing.

In addition download the latest patch and apply it so that you have the current version of the 172 software.

Make sure you are also meeting the requirements and that your FSX is all updated.
