Windshield/Windows turn grey

Post by C-JLTP »

Hello,

Flew the a2a 172 for the first time today. The first flight seemed to be fine. At the end of the flight and after shutdown I saved the flight...

loaded the flight later on to fly for the secont time. During the startup checklists I noticed the windshield and windows turn grey to the point I couldnt see out of any them...

Tried turning "preview DirectX 10" off in the display settings and restarted FSX. Same thing happened. Anyone lese exerience the same thing?

I purchased and installed the a2a 172 today. I didn't install the 1.022 update yet, I wasnt sure if the new purchase download today included it or not.

Running Win8, i7 4770k processor, GTX670 GPU, NVIDIA Inspector loaded with NInckN's setings profile located at Flight/SimForums.com.

Other than that this plane is fantastic. Very happy customer.

Quit breathing is one fix. Seriously though it is the emulation of your windshield fogging up. Kick on the defroster and open a window.

Open a door when on ground or when flying, open the ventilation, or windshield defrosters. What you have seen were your windows fogging up, as there was no air exchange.

You have three regulators for that in the 172, plus opening doors and windows.
First is the cabin ventilation, combined with the cabin heat. Both have push/pull handles right below the copilots yoke.
The third regulator is windshield defrost, you can turn that up in the Shift+3 panel, or when moving the viewpoint a little up and forward, you should see it on the dashbord top.

Keep the cabin well ventilated, heat can be regulated, but make sure it´s not too warm, tends to fog up easily. Windshield defroster doesn´t hurt either, when it´s slightly opened.

Have fun with exploring physics, and remember, as soon as the windows are fogged up in flight, so are you... :D

It is funny setting different reactions to this event. It happened as soon as I launched the sim for the first time. I had real weather and the conditions were prefect for windows to fog up that day. Fora second I thought I had a bug, but I noticed that the fog was getting thicker.

Having experienced this many a time in winter my first reaction was to lab forward with my track ir, and open the defroster along with the window and the air vent.
I was very impressed to see the fog clear up!
