GPS NAV problem no VORs

So I'm having a bit of a weird problem with the 172.

I was flying for a bit with the default FSX gps on the panel, but the experience was a bit empty and I typically fly VFR anyway, so I switched back to the full radio stack. The nav source remained stuck on "GPS", and I had to switch back to the gps to change it back to "NAV".

Now I get vor ranges on with the DME set to remote, but the HSI won't show bearing or radial alignment.
