C-172 Trainer

Post by billinda12 »

Recently installed A2A C172 Trainer in FSX Deluxe simulation. Install was successful. However cannot get engine to start; even with the Cntrl-E keyboard command. Any suggestions???

Hi billinda12 and welcome to the forums,

A2A C172 is a study sim and very detailed. I would recommend reading the aircraft manual for the engine start procedure. You can also follow the "Shift-2" pop-up menu instruction for start up.

P.S. Don't forget to install the latest accu-sim updater, downloadable here.

Hello and welcome to the forums, I won't add anything to LZ-WIL response for the moment, just to mention that the more information you give us the better and quicker we can help. For example is your FSX updated with the two FSX service packs and/or Acceration FSX expansion pack (which includes SP1 + 2).

thanks,
Lewis

My installed FSX Deluxe simulation includes FSX SP-1 & SP-2 updates. I downloaded & installed the latest accu-sim updater as suggested. Also used the 172 manual engine start procedure for both a cold & a warm start. I do get a small steady fuel flow indication when doing the cold start procedure. However, in both engine start up cases, when doing the Cntrl-E engine start command, the engine does not crank at all. The simulation is not in a "pause" state. Otherwise FSX runs normally when using its baseline A/Cs.

Is there any additional info I can provide to assist in resolving this dilemma.

Thanks,
billinda12

This is an advanced addon aircraft. I would not expect the default Cntrl+E command to work with everything A2A does behind the scenes.
Instead, if you bring up the Shift+3 configuration panel, there is an option provided by A2A to perform the same action.

Hello,

Yes try the auto start under your shift + 3 menu. Also everything ok on the pre-flight walkaround and check?

Secondly how are you loading the flight?

Thanks,
Lewis
