Prepared 4.42 and the 180 Nothing working

Post by Brian Smith »

I ran the installer as instructed. I ran the simconnect from the prepared directory. Plane is there. i can load it. Avionics won't work, no sound, etc. When I open the maintenance hangar it says everything is completely shot. Nothing can be repaired. I have no sound and can't start the Cherokee. I assume this is a simconnect issue. I don't know why. I have run the installer several times, restarted my PC and get nothing different. Also the A2A updater says I don't have the A2A gauge installed. I do. I can't figure out what I missed here.

Hi Brian.
It sounds like you have not properly installed the simconnect , or installed the wrong simconnect , i believe you can have more than one simconnect installed at any one time , i believe there is a sticky post some where in the forums over this issue.

I honestly wish it was that simple. This is a clean install of P3D v4.2 No other addons present except ORBX sceneries and Active Sky. I have installed and uninstalled simConnect from the distribution folders in P3D and from the FAQ on this website. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it several times, rebooted my machine each time. No luck at all It simply does not work. Everything is there, but for some reason it won't connect simconnect

Are you launching from a saved flight? Make sure to first launch with one of the stock aircraft before switching over to the A2A model. The initialization of these sims can get weird if launching with anything other than the basic default flight that came with the simulator.

I'm starting to wonder if it's a problem with the licensing system. All of my other planes work in P3D 4.2 now except my A2A. If I install the A2A planes, it also prevents me from adding fuel to ANY plane I own.

Hello,

the fuel issue isn't something that would be connected as the software's are utterly separate. What I would ask though is if you are installing the P3Dv4 versions of the Accu-sim aircraft and not trying to use other previous versions?

thanks,

Lewis,

Clearly I am an idiot. I was told that the 180, 172, and Connie would all work in P3D. I did not know there was a separate version for P3D. I looked on the store and can only find a P3D version of the Connie. How do I get P3D versions of the 180 that I just bought and the 172?

I hope you are right and this is the answer because this will make my whole week! Love these planes.

Ugh! Did not see there were P3D version for sale and bought the FSX version because everyone told me the 172, 182, 180, and Connie work in P3D. Now I have to drop another $150. I just bought the 180 a week ago not knowing of the P3D version because I understood it to work in P3D. Live and learn andnort with our cash. Ah well. Thank you for the life lesson
