As always, EXCELLENT aircraft. Doubt I'll ever buy another brand! (Would LOVE to see a twin though! Hint, hint! )
On another note, was taking advantage of P3D 4.4 night flight, and noticed that when the strobes are on, you can see the flash on the top of the wings, as if it's coming through the aileron / wing gap. I can also see some strobe flashing on the frame of the windshield (dead center, and (very faint) anti-collision beacon in the cockpit. I'm thinking it shouldn't be like that. (Had no issues on the C-172).
Just sayin.

Re: Strobe lights, see through wings
Yes, this is expected behaviour, because those lights are not casting shadows in P3D4 and the illumination is leaking through the geometry. I'll look at this issue and I will try to make it less visible.
Re: Strobe lights, see through wings
At first thought, it would make sense to me to disable the effects that should not be visible from the cockpit altogether in the internal view. This would also kill the visually distracting light blooms that are sticky on the wing tips. Perhaps another effect could be added to interior views to provide illumination of the environment where it would make sense.
Just thinking out loud.

Re: Strobe lights, see through wings
Would the light still penetrate the wing if it was blocked by a small shaped “item†buried in the wing right behind the light? A small spoon shaped item might contain it. I had to do something similar when I made several steam engines for Trainz RR simulator.
But I’ll take any fix that we can get.
Thanks for listening!

They do the same thing on my Skylane, along with the nav lights.

Maybe the right and left strobes are swapped!
Would be an interesting experiment in the config file, hmmmm...

Re: Strobe lights, see through wings
Just wanted to revisit this and ask if this had ever been addressed? I know "we" did a patch some time ago and it's still doing the same thing. NOT rushing you, just curious and wondering if it fell through the cracks?Michal - A2A wrote: ↑10 Dec 2018, 08:59 Yes, this is expected behaviour, because those lights are not casting shadows in P3D4 and the illumination is leaking through the geometry. Re: Strobe lights, see through wings
Hello TB2,
Yes, afraid this one has been overlooked a bit due to some other behind-the-scenes priorities. We'll try to improve this behaviour with the next Cherokee update. However, bearing in mind the limitations of the P3D lighting engine (i.e. the fact the light sources other than the sun aren't shadowed), it's probably going to be a bit of a compromise.
Sorry for the delay anyway.
Cheers,
Nick

Thanks Nick for the reply. NOT a deal breaker, but with the enhanced night graphics, …
