I understand that the _t.psd is the texture but how should we treat the _s.psd is that the glossiness maps?

NM my last post just found this post from Michael in the CHerokee paintkit thread

Quick question from a painting NooB - what is the t versus s texture files used for?
T is just a colour. T alpha is a reflection mask (black alpha means 100% colour and 0% reflection on the surface, white alpha means 0% colour and 100% reflection - pure mirror), S is a specular map, specular is simply a reflection of the light source (in our case it's the sun or the moon).
For glossy surface you should add some reflection and make specular brighter, for matte finish you should use no or minimal reflection and specular.

Although I do have a question about the specular map:
Did you use a blend mode for the paint layer in the spec map? I was looking at the VH-DLL and I noticed that in the areas painted red it appears orange but in the black paint areas you made no changes to the spec map. Please advise on how I should copy over the paint layer from the T file and apply it in the S file. Blend mode? Adjustment? Some combination of both?

None of these. The red paint should looks a bit metallic (just a bit, not pure metallic), that's why I've copied the red shape from the color texture, moved it to the specular, created empty layer, CTRL+click on the red shape to copy layer shape to the selection, and fill the selection with orange color on previously created empty layer. Then I deleted the copied red layer. Orange is for the specular highlights, I wanted them a bit tinted.CordoganAir wrote:Although I do have a question about the specular map:

Re: Accu-Sim C182 Skylane - PAINTKIT
Does anyone here know how to successfully convert the psd file into a psp file? I use Paintshop Pro (I have for years) and I have no desire to relearn another paint program. Yes maybe I should have taken up psd first but psp is what I had access to so it's what I like to use. I've tried everything I can think of to convert this on but it's not working for me and I'd like to start on some paints. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated and I would forever be in your debt!
Thanks,
Rick

I don't have Paintshop Pro, sorry. Paintshop Pro can't import PSD files?
Re: Accu-Sim C182 Skylane - PAINTKIT
Sometimes it works & sometimes it doesn't, the more complicated (layers) it has the harder it gets. It just doesn't work on this one. I'm managing to fumble my through PSD enough to get the base layers the way I need them & make a template thats usable for me I think, we'll see.
