How can I keep my recorded flight hours in a new computer?

Post by frangarcia »

I’ve recently purchased a new computer for flight simulation (I will no longer use the old one), and I’ve installed all the programs and my beloved A2A C182 airplane. Now I’d like to have in the new computer the same configuration of the airplane than in the old one.

It means keeping the same flying hours, hours from the last overhaul, the same state… I suppose I can edit some CFG or INI file somewhere in my hard disk and modify these values by hand to match the configuration in the old computer, but I don’t know where these files are stored.

Can someone help me? Thanks!

Hello,

Yes - it's pretty easy to do.

Just copy the contents of the "My Documents\A2A" Folder from your old computer and copy them into the same location on the new one, overwriting the existing files. When you next load the 182 (or any of your other A2A aircraft) they should inherit the hours and state from when you last used them on your old computer.

It's actually the *log.dat files in this directory which record the persistent aircraft condition.

Thanks,
Nick

Let us know how you get on with the move. To save on potential issues, I would not recommend moving any saved flights over, instead just re-create any you use to use.

thanks
