C182 red left Position light, big glow ball

C182 red left Position light, big glow ball

Hello,

I just installed the C182 in P3D4.1 and have this strange Problem with the left red Position light (cannot upload a pic "Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached." but the Red light has a big unusual glow ball around it, what is not round, but crooked on one side.

Never had this in P3D3.

I also installed the newest update from Dezember.

can anybody help please?

Hello Marc and welcome to the forums,

this is normally caused by a non P3Dv4 native software being installed into P3Dv4. Mostly this comes from AI packs and things that overwrite the P3D files, in this case with P3Dv3 compliant files but not the new P3Dv4 compliant way.

Thanks für answer, but what can I do? I never had this Problem with another aircraft in P3D4, and I guess the A2A planes come with its own Effect files?
The green Light and all others are ok, ist just the red one. :shock:

hello,

I replaced the FX_2 file with the original from my P3D 4.0 backup (I changed it due to an AI addon, as you said), the Position light is ok again, but now, My Beacon light is gone:(

any ideas?

Hi Marc,

Sounds like an add-on like SPAI may have caused the original issue?

However, there is actually a small typo in some of the exterior lighting effects for the 182 which causes them to try and load texture files for the 172 instead. I put together some corrected *.fx files a while ago which you can download from here if you wish.
