Hi,
I'm using the massive wire plugs. I lean the mixture every time I taxi, including after starting and after landing. I idle at ~900 rpm. Yet I still get fouled plugs quite often; every 2nd or 3rd flight or so. I can always clear it during the runup, by using full power and leaning the mixture for a minute or two.
But this seems a bit too frequent. Any ideas?

Re: Fouled Spark Plugs
James,
We leaned towards the fouling that happens with a while not most airplanes but many. We did this because it's an entirely different experience taxiing an airplane that is prone to fouling. It's really tough on brakes, for example. 900 RPM should be enough to keep the plugs from fouling, but it's borderline. Are you sure you aren't letting it get under 900 for a little bit? If this really bugs you, remember, that is what the fine wires are for.
Scott.

Re: Fouled Spark Plugs
Thanks Scott, good info. I didn't realize 900 was a bit low. Plus, I mistakenly thought the fine wire was more prone fouling.
I'll give this a go.

I'll give this a go.
