Re: Rain
Hello patful,
Do you have ActiveSky for P3Dv4 installed at all? If so and the program is active, you'll need to use its weather simulation and not the default P3D weather engine to see the rain effects.
Thanks,
Nick

Re: Rain
I used the default rain situation to test initially. As I said, both the V35 and P-40 worked. After your response, I just started up ActiveSky ASP4, took me a while to find some rain, still no go with the 182. V35 and P-40 work. I ran the updater again to make sure I hadn't lost my mind, or more than normal, and it shows it's up to date.

Re: Rain
Okay, thanks patful.
Please can you check the following:
Nick
Please can you check the following:
- The interior model (Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons\A2A\SimObjects\Airplanes\A2A_C182\model\c182_interior_p3d4.MDL) has a modifed date of 12 Oct 2018.
- The panel.cfg file (Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons\A2A\SimObjects\Airplanes\A2A_C182\panel\panel.cfg) also has a modifed date of 12 Oct 2018.
- There's a "Windshield.ini" file present in the main 182 folder? (Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons\A2A\SimObjects\Airplanes\A2A_C182)

Hi Kimo,Kimo wrote:Same here no rain on windshield on the 182. Fired up the bonanza and even there it's not working anymore.
Same questions apply as I asked patful really. For starters, do you have ActiveSky installed, and if so are you using its weather or P3D default?
Thanks,
Nick

Re: Rain
Okay, thanks for the info patful: that explains it. I wonder if some other program was accessing this file during installation?
Please could you try using the C182 Aircraft Configurator to re-select whatever GPS option it is you're using and see if that updates this file and enables the rain?
Thanks,
Nick

Re: Rain
I just installed my F1 650, and the rain works. Not sure what program would have been using the panel.cfg when I installed. I then shut down P3D, changed back to default GPS, started back up, unselected it in the Minicontrols panel, and I still have rain. All panel.cfg's are now 10/12/2018. So, victory! Thanks, Nick.

Re: Rain
Same on my 182. Running the C182 Aircraft Configurator and re-selecting the GPS fixed it for me as well.patful wrote:Thanks, Nick. Yes on #1 and #3, no on the panel.cfg. It's dated 3/16/2018. All of the other panel.cfg's below that one (_default, _F1_650, etc.) are 10/12/2018.

Re: Rain
Thanks guys - good to know the fix was a relatively simple one in this case. I suspect the issue may be related to a third-party GPS being installed so I'm just about to make a small change to the update installer logic which will forcibly overwrite this 'panel.cfg' file for future users, and hopefully present this issue from happening again.
However, posters here won't need to re-download or anything. This is just for the benefit of future updaters.
Thanks again, and hope you enjoy the rain effects.

Re: Rain
For reference if it helps. I use a single Flight1 GTN650 on the C172 and it updated without any issues. I use a single Flight1 GTN750 on the C182, and it had the issue.Nick - A2A wrote:Thanks guys - good to know the fix was a relatively simple one in this case. Re: Rain
Thanks medx421,
It's possible the issue has to do with the timestamp of the active panel.cfg file, but hopefully the revised update installer which is now active will prevent future occurrences.

Re: Rain
Well, I have now the same problem, but the above mentioned solution did not fix it.
Checked the model file and panel.cfg, both dated to Oct. 12. The windshield.ini is in the main 182 folder.
With the C172 the rain effect works but not on this one. Checked if there is any update, but it seems I have the latest version.
Tried both the internal weather engine and an external: C172 has the effect, C182 don't.
