Accu-Sim Update 5_9_16 issues

Post by Cycliste1961 »

EDIT: Sorry, i should have posted this in the tech support section.

It's been 2 months since I last touch my sim.

After moving on to P3D3.5, I intended to reinstall the 180 and the 250. I re-downloaded the installers from my A2A account. All good. But when I run the latest Accusim update 5-9-16, I get the Windows message "wyUpdate has stopped working" when it gets to the Cherokee. If I cancel, the update continues only to stop at the Comanche.

It's interesting that after installing HiFi's ASCA I get the same Windows error.

This the error:
Faulting application name: A2AUpdate.exe, version: 2.6.18.4, time stamp: 0x5047da62
Faulting module name: unknown, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x00000000

Hello,

if you go to your root P3D > A2A folder and see a Cherokee and Comanche folder try deleting them. Restart your system, download the latest updater again and run it.

thanks,
Lewis

Hello Lewis and thank you for the reply.
Yesterday I removed the A2A folders from the root P3D folder, installed the 180 and 250 (fresh downloads from your website) ran the updater. It crashed again.
Today I was able to run the updater in safe mode.

As mentioned, I have similar issues with HiFi's ASCA - which finally ran in safe mode as well. AS2016 is fine.
I submitted my PC to Bitdefender, malwarebytes, hitman pro and adwclean. All cleaned up. Beside a few PUP, the 2 trojans identified were related to known programs (P3DV2 zip file for example) and were probably false alarms.
Also ran sfc / scannow which shows no abnormalities. Firewall permissions are OK.

Strange because I never had issues with any of the addon installers before. I will investigate further when able. Maybe it's a recent W10 update. The sim runs fine, your aircraft too.

Maybe it's time for a PC reset.

Check permissions, maybe you need to edit your account or some folder permissions, or even anti-virus has been known to cause issues in some rare cases.
