No engine sound at all either inside or outside the T6 Texan

Hi, I'm new to this forum but have been using A2A aircraft in FSX for a long time.

My T-6 Texan will not make any sound other than the whine of the aircraft's electrical system. With the engine running (prop spinning visually), there are NO sounds either inside or outside of the aircraft, other than that.

I have only recently installed this aircraft and so far it has never worked properly in about 5 or 6 attempts. I have shut down fully and re-booted with no change. I have no such problem with my other A2A aircraft which include the Cherokee, Comanche, Accusim Cub, and C182.

I saw something mentioned about Simconnect but don't know if that's relevant. I don't want to mess with my setup much as it works fine for other products. I just expect this one to work too, to be honest!

Can anyone help me with this please?

First question for you and the issue would be to ask if you have run the latest Accu-sim updater since installing the Texan?

Given all sounds are not there have you checked the shift + 3 panel for the volume control?

I am loading in the normal way - from the FSX free flight menu. I have also tried switching aircraft during taxiing without starting a new flight. For example, the Cherokee taxis with everything normal, I switch to the T6 in the aircraft menu and engine sound goes off.

Volume is set to full in the shift+3 menu. As I mentioned, the T6 is not completely silent - I can hear the electrical generator. That is the only noise it makes, even with the engne running.

That is very strange normally there is external sounds as these are more platform driven than with out Accu-sim which if at fault tends to mean no internal sounds only rather than no sim sounds at all.

Can you try deleting the update folder in your sim root folder A2A > T-6 and then re-run the latest updater please to let it update.

I cannot seem to find an update folder.

In my case the path is FSX DELUXE>A2A>T6
Inside there are five files and a folder named 'Tools'.

I guess this is because when I run the A2A updater after purchase, it didn't find any updates for the T6.

Yes this would explain the issue, are you sure the T-6 is installed correctly, the updater should find your T-6 and update as needed.

My original A2A updater did not find any due updates for the T6. However, I just downloaded what is presumably the latest A2A updater from the forum. It has installed as ver 04_13_17 despite being listed in downloads as 11_20_2014 (which seems misleading and might be why I didn't get it sooner).

The new updater found updates for my T6 and seems to have fixed the sound issues.

It might be worth A2A making sure that its re-sellers are distributing the latest working versions of the software - and maybe packing the latest A2A updater in with the aircraft download. It will save some frustration - just an idea!

Ahh good to hear, we always ship v1 and then offer our updater for users to update. If in doubt just run the latest updater.
