Texan (via Just Flight) not working in P3D v4

Post by colinbilling »

Hi,

I'm having an issue with the Texan in P3D 4.2 - I purchased it from Just Flight in summer 2016 and used it very successfully in P3D v3. I recently upgraded to P3D v4 and then 4.2 and upon re-downloading the Texan from JustFlight and re-installing, despite folders showing up in the "Addons" folder (and P3D addons.cfg being successfully pointed towards the addons folder), the Texan does not show in the P3D vehicles menu.

Please see below email correspondence with Just Flight - who have directed me here. I have also attached screenshots of the Just Flight Texan page (https://www.justflight.com/product/a2a- ... an-for-p3d) - there is no mention of the license level for the Texan and I'm CERTAIN that when I downloaded the P3D v3 version it was not labelled as ACADEMIC, whereas now it is...

Would really value some assistance - as Just Flight seem unable to provide any!

Many thanks

Colin

Hi,

Having purchased and used the A2A Texan in P3D v3 Professional since August 2016 I have recently updated to P3D v4 (now 4.2) and have just today got round to re-downloading the Texan and installing it. Sadly it doesn't show up in my P3D installation - and I am now concerned as the installer is labelled "ACADEMIC" which does not reflect my P3D license.

On your product page I see no reference to pro or academic licenses, and the product WAS working absolutely fine in P3D v3....

I'm a little confused/concerned.

For info I have installed it to a P3D Addons folder on my D:\ drive (not the default location) but upon checking the addons.xml this location is listed so P3D should know it's there, but the aircraft do not show up in the VEHICLES menu.

Help please! :)

Hi Colin and welcome to the forums,

As you've installed the T-6 to a custom directory, it's very likely the culprit is a small bug Lockheed Martin introduced with P3Dv4.2. There's a temporary workaround (it involves a small edit to the "add-ons.cfg" to remove a trailing backslash) described in this sticky post in the Pilot's Lounge forum.

I gather a future P3D update will provide a proper fix.

If the *.cfg doesn't fix the issue, please let us know.

Thanks,
Nick
