Hi all,
First, awesome aircraft. It was worth the wait.
I am experiencing a frequent, intermittent frame rate drop with this aircraft. For example, I will go from approximately 30 fps down to 5 and back again. I don't think I have experienced this with other aircraft. Nothing has changed on my computer.
One thought I have is that McAfee may be causing a problem, but I do not know how to tell if this is the case.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks ahead of time,
-B

Re: Frame rate dropping
Hi.
I use AVAST AV and have it set to exclude anything to do with my flight sim or addons to the sim , momentary frame rate drops happen if scenery is dense , ie going over dense cities or photo scenery , and dont cause any issues if its only a second or two , but if you start haveing long priods of low frames , it makes flying imposible , if this is happening , then turn your scenery settings down a bit , and see if things improve.
regards alan.

Check if the mirror is enabled. It is a huge FPS sink.

Thank you for your responses thus far.cristi.neagu wrote:Check if the mirror is enabled. It is a huge FPS sink.
To what mirror are you referring? I will definitely look into this.
Thank you again,

There are mirrors fitted to the side of the wing tip tanks, to check for landing gear extension/retraction. They are turned on and off from the Bonanza configurator which you can find in your Windows start menu.bkmetz2x205 wrote:To what mirror are you referring? I will definitely look into this.

Ok, thanks for the clarification. I will look into this and update the thread later. Hopefully this works.cristi.neagu wrote:There are mirrors fitted to the side of the wing tip tanks, to check for landing gear extension/retraction. Initially, my frame rate did not seem to suffer when I first downloaded the Bonanza. Odd.

Note that the mirrors work and can be turned off only in P3D

Re: Frame rate dropping
Thanks for your response Tailspin45. That won't be the problem as I have FSX-Steam.Tailspin45 wrote:Note that the mirrors work and can be turned off only in P3D
I'll keep looking. I wonder if my I-5 CPU is not Turbo boosting. Perhaps things are getting too hot. The computer is about a year old and has never been blown free of dust. Might be worth a try.

Re: Frame rate dropping
Try using Process Monitor in Task manager and see if anything goes nuts when your frame-rate drops? Or try the more capable and also free from Microsoft Process Explorer?

Re: Frame rate dropping
Just an update for this thread.
I shut off real time monitoring on McAfee. It seems to have taken care of the frame rate drop. The only way to be sure is when I try to fly again with it turned back on.
I'll keep you posted.
