Is it possible to get the RXP 530 v1 to work on the Bo?

Re: Reality xp 530 v1
Hello dxdave,
Although the original RealityXP GNS 530 unit isn't supported by the Bonanza Aircraft Configurator, I think you may be able to get it to work by editing the "panel_RXP_GNS530.cfg" file in the Bonanza's "panel" folder. (This assumes of course that you're using FSX.)
What you'd need to do is use a text editor such as Notepad to open the file and then use 'find and replace' to change the "gauge00=rxpGNS2!GNS_530_1" entries to "gauge00=rxpGNS!GNS530". After doing this and saving your changes, use the Bonanza Aircraft Configurator to select the RXP GNS 530 option.
I'm not able to test this on my installation as I don't have a copy of the original RXP GNS product, but this may be worth a try. Please make a backup of the file in question before making any edits.
If you do try this, perhaps you can confirm if it works?
Thanks,
Nick

Do the VC clickspots work on the GPS? I did the same trick and it does appear in the cockpit, just that none of the click spots work in the VC. When I open it as a pop up window it works fine.dxdave wrote:It worked. Thank you very much

You're welcome. Thanks for confirming.dxdave wrote:It worked. Thank you very much
To be honest, it wouldn't surprise me if the clickspots don't work using just this simple edit. I believe the Bonanza is the first Accu-Sim aircraft to support the new clickspot functionality that's built into the RXP GNSv2 units, and this may impose some restrictions to backwards compatibility.85chevy4x4 wrote:Do the VC clickspots work on the GPS? Is there any chance A2A will come up with a simple installation for the Reality xp 530?
I have had no luck getting it installed.
Thanks,
Tom

Tom,
I don't think there are any plans to include support via the Bonanza Aircraft Configurator for the old RXP v1 GNS products.
Thanks,
Nick
