Power Up GPS
Power Up GPS
I'm able to install the a GPS units on the Bonanza V-tail and the C172R but I'm not able to power up the GPS on either aircraft in P3D. They are powered up in FSX. What do I need to do?

Re: Power Up GPS
Hello forland - welcome to the forums.
Please can you let us know which GPS units you're having trouble with. Is it the default GPS or add-on GPS units by either Flight1 or RealityXP?
Thanks,
Nick

The default unit is powered up but the Realtyxp and Flight1 are not.

Re: Power Up GPS
Just to clarify a bit forland, the RealityXP and Flight1 options are provided for customers who have purchased these third party add-ons separately.
Garmin GTN
http://www.reality-xp.com/index.html#pricing
http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=gtncomplete
Garmin GNS
http://www.reality-xp.com/index2.html#pricing
http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=gnscomplete
I'm not sure if you have old copies of RealityXP and/or Flight1 software that are only compatible with FSX, or perhaps there's a misunderstanding and you only have the default GPS units working in FSX?
If you have purchased any third party GPS add-ons, please let us know exactly which one(s). If you haven't, then this is necessary to power up and use these units.
Thanks,
Nick

Re: Power Up GPS
I understand the problem now. I have not purchase the optional GPS units, I thought they where part of the Bonanza package since they were in the Aircraft Configurator. The C172 only has the default GPS. Thanks for your time.

Re: Power Up GPS
You're very welcome. Without any third-party GPS add-ons installed, you still have the choice of the default panel-mounted GNS 400 or the window mounted GPSMAP 295 option. You can swap between these two (or a 'no GPS' at all option) using the Shift 3 menu.
Thanks,
Nick
