Fps frame drop in P3D V4. 4

Post by gra1 »

I read with interest the previous article on Fps dropping since
Installing P3DV4. 4.
I own the Bonanza v35 and Civilian Mustang. I have a high end
system which usually gives me around 60fps, but since the upgrade
Its fallen to around 20 to 25 fps. I've reinstalled both aircraft but no difference.
I have had Orbx EU England running OK since upgrading my system, but
I have also added Orbx Southampton, along with the P3DV4. 4 update
Which might be part of my problem. I have reduced the Fps intensive
aspects in the airport and also reduced the P3DV4. 4 sliders, but still
no significant increase in Fps.
I've flagged this issue just to let you know that something is not right,
I will continue to experiment over the next few days.
Thanks

Hello,

Sounds like you need to do some testing at a simple default airport rather than at the Orbx EGHI scenery. I've actually just finished a clean install of P3Dv4.4 (no add-scenery yet) but there's no FPS penalty in the Bonanza that I've noticed.

As discussed in this topic which is presumably the one you're referring to, what options do you have selected in the "mirrors" page of the aircraft configurator?

Thanks,
Nick

Not directly linked to previous posts but on my system during the night time I can see a bigger load on my GPU if I leave Landing lights illuminate ground and Dynamic lightning ticked. With Dynamic lightning ticked only I can see all effect (beacon, landing lights etc) and GPU shows lesser load.
