Fully-realized 3D landing lights
Fully-realized 3D landing lights
Hi team. Just wondering if the Bonanza for FSX has fully-realized 3D landing lights. When turned on it doesn't cast light into space as intended.

Re: Fully-realized 3D landing lights
Hello Fred,
For the Bonanza, visible projection of the landing light beam is dependent upon the visibility in the sim. If it's foggy or misty, you should see the 3D beam just as in real life, but if the weather is clear you'll only see the pool of light it casts on the ground.
Thanks,
Nick

Re: Fully-realized 3D landing lights
Just an update.. Was flying from Bali airport WADD to Jakarta WIHH and arriving in minimal conditions foggy and raining did not show the 3d beam effect.. I have the landing lights configured as custom which according to the ac.cfg shows landinglights=LotusLights
Is there anything else that needs setting up?
Thanks

Re: Fully-realized 3D landing lights
Okay, thanks for the info Fred. I'll give this a try next time I have the opportunity and let you know. I can't recall now if there are differences in behaviour between P3D and FSX in this regards.
Cheers,
Nick

Re: Fully-realized 3D landing lights
I just checked Fred, and the visibility in the sim apparently has to be < 1 NM for the volumetric landing lights to become visible. Maybe the vis wasn't this bad in your case?
Thanks,
Nick

Re: Fully-realized 3D landing lights
Thanks Nick.. When flying through clouds whilst on descent, would that not also show the volumetric landing lights?Nick - A2A wrote: ↑31 Mar 2019, 17:37 I just checked Fred, and the visibility in the sim apparently has to be < 1 NM for the volumetric landing lights to become visible.
