I have just bought BOB2 and had a few goes in the instant action. All ok although but there didn't seem to be any throtle control. It crashed, as i knew it would from looking at this forum. So i downloaded 2.11 patch and the multiskin patch. I also changed the shortcut as per your previous advice. All appears to be ok, except that in the basic take off instant action, the prop is turning, but i cant get the Spit to move. The controls show throttle via joystick slider. But nothing on either the joystick or keyboard works. View changes, gun etc all seem ok.

Please help. I would love to get into this game, but am very frustrated at the moment.

Thanks,
JOF

:) OK, Can you just confirm if you have the brakes on or maybe the prop pitch is in coarse position and not fine.
Does the engine rev up ok?

It sounds to me if you are not even getting the engine to Rev up that the throttle isn't mapped correctly.
What sort of joystick do you have? i wondered why you are using a slider ,don't most joysticks have a throttle lever?
The more information you can post the easier it will be to help you?
Good luck,we will try and get you up and flying as quickly as possible :)

Hi and welcome to BOBII and the BOBII forums and community. Here is a link on some joystick/controller information. You can also get data from the user manual (located in the BOBII folder in the Docs folder) that may help with the joystick setup. You also need to release the breaks by using the "," and "." keys.

In Options/Contols/Custom,

Left click on the assigned axis column for the throttle, it should high light in red (do not move the mouse), then move the throttle on your joystick and it should pick up the throttle.

Picture shows my CH results after the above process is completed. Compare to your assignments to spot the problem.

I'm using a Logic 3 Pro Flight 2, which worked fine in FS2004. The throttle is a sliding knob and this is what was identifed in the control options. However, i have played around with it and it is now set to the Z axis and the throttle (and everything else)seems to work fine.

So thanks for your advice and a Happy New Year to you all.

Thanks,

JOF
