Thanks Scott. I've got no errors post install, so I'm guessing it's working as advertised. I can see that things are improved. Just was curious if there was a "v1.4" somewhere to look for.. Thanks again...back to flying!

- Added Auto Cold & Dark option
- The pilot is removable
- Added engine hot metal cooling crack physics and sounds
- Added carburetor fuel return line (reserve tank)
- New temperature gauge physics in p-40

Improvements / Bug fixes:

- P-40 ram air / carb heat lever and logic fixed
- Brakes improvements

Spitfire
New features:
- Added Auto Cold & Dark option
- The pilot is removable
- Added engine hot metal cooling crack physics and sounds

Improvements / Bug fixes:

- Increased pneumatic pressure useage with flap operation
- Direct drive electric starter torque increased

P-51
Improvements / Bug fixes
- Metallic material and texture improvements
- Minor fixes to some paint chips
- Shorter oxygen hose
- Increased aileron effectiveness slightly to match flight test. Peak 95 deg sec at 310mph ias, 50 lb stick force
- Fixed / improved some specular texturing
- Trim can be more finely tuned
- FSX external sound fix
- Added sounds to IFF panel, stores release, lower arming panel switches, and fuel selector switch
- Better tail wheel tire rotation

Thanks for update, Scott.

I am on my second P51 transatlantic flight, now with core update 1.4. Before used core update 1.3 with no pitot heat issue. According weather informations my initial climb goes into moderate icing conditions. To check pitot heat i did not use the heating funktion waiting for icing up. The effect was IAS indication went to 0 KIAS (if 0 KIAS is correct some users talking about in another tread). Using pitot heat did not clear the tube within 2 hours of flight using pitot heat. Tested descending into warmer lower altitudes with OAT +12°C -> 0 KIAS.
Due to that issue decided to land at UK near York to get that tube time to get free of blockage. After 5 hours back in cockpit for the further flight. OAT steady as before +13°C and the tube seems still be blocked. Back in the air for now 2 more hours, still 0 KIAS indicated.

->Used FSX function key (Shift H) -> 0 KIAS
->Switching pitot heat is visible at the ampere indicator, system should work.
->Refreshed weather inputs at active sky 2012 weather engine -> 0 KIAS indicated.
->Checked maintenance hangar, no entry about electrical failures.

That should not be that way correct.

Kind regards.

Nico

This plane uses default FSX icing. It was not altered with Accu-Sim and is indicative of FSX itself.

Hi Cody,

thanks for info, maybe one more reason to let that be controlled by accusim?

It's very easy to get a case of "feature-itis." :)

There were no changes made in this regard. It may have been an FSX bug itself. I've seen it before with many other aircraft mate.

Would it really be "feature-itis" to have one of the two most important instruments (the other one is the altimeter) in the cockpit behave correctly? I mean, we are not talking about a barf bag counter here. :D

I concur to a degree, however there are also many other features that I would love to have simulated. The problem always comes down to time and performance. I'll leave that to A2A.

Please note my reference to "feature-itis" is a general term that I like to utilize at the end of most testing periods with most companies I have worked for. There are ALWAYS features that are omitted from aircraft that generally extend to a wish list. Sometimes they make it, however, sometimes they do not. I myself am one of the worst culprits of it and acknowledge it freely and openly. :D

I had the same problem in the spit last night.

Airspeed was reading 0 IAS after a heavy dive. I thought I had broken something, came to land (by guessing airspeed) without incident, let things cool down, took off again and all was fine.

i guess simiulated icing but it did clear itself.

Hi terspok,

if you read my issue you will see that my pitot tube didn´t clear itself on ground within many hours at +12°C. My problem is that it was unable to get it back to work again. And i was talking about the P51.
