I've been playing CFS3 for a couple years now and OFF3 since it's release. I'm contemplating downloading and installing FIREPOWER for CFS3. Does anyone here know if OFF3 will run with a FIREPOWER enhanced CFS3 OK? I don't want to screw up my being able to play OFF3 but I'd like to be able to enjoy the B17 missions in FIREPOWER as well. Any info and assurances from personal experience will be welcome. I just want to be sure before I buy the download and install.

Hi Trek,

Don't contemplate, get it! It's an excellent product. :D

I have a number of cfs3 installs and OFF3 as well with no problems. As long as the file paths are correct when installing all should be well.

Btw ...do you have the MAW, PTO or ETO versions of cfs3 installed at the moment?

Cheers,

Pat.

Pat, Thanks for the reply and info. No, I do not have any mods for CFS3 as of yet. I know about MAW and their website. How is MAW and the others you mentioned? It would be great to hear a review of these from a user.

If you're happy with cfs3 then I can't recommend the MAW, PTO and ETO addons highly enough. MAW especially is a masterpiece of freeware modelling and creation. The PTO work is also excellent but needs other missions etc adding as it was only ever intended to provide a foundation - the whole and feel of it is very good. The ETO brings together all the best cfs3 mods plus plenty of new ones in one hefty package if you've got a decent pc and can turn the sliders up the eye candy factor is very high :) There's a write up about it lower down on these forums. Oh I forgot to mention there's also a Korean addon too!

At present the MAW, Korean Skies and PTO sites are all down as the host has been ill. They should be back up and running soon, I'll let you know.

Ive only had a taste of parts of the ETO mod together with firepower, but I loved it and still hope when I get time to download the entire thing.

It is still the only sim that enables me to fly combat ops as RAF Bomber command over occupied Europe.

yep, quite true Lewis. :) What a lot of folks never appreciated was that cfs3 is a tactical bomber simulation, and not a dogfighting sim, which I think hasn't helped it's reputation over the years.

Btw there's some new (and very nice!) bombsights on their way for some of the RAF bombers and a certain RAF BC station in the North east is nearing completion too ;)
