I saw this sim and I thought it looked awesome, but I have no familiarity with CFS3, most of my familiarity comes from Il-2 Sturmovik and Falcon 4 Allied Force, now what I'm wondering is, would CFS3 and this addon allow me to be ONLY a gunner on an aircraft? I.e. the autopilot doing everything, takeoff, landing, bombing etc? It'd be so nice if I could do that, sorta like my ol' fav sim B-17 from MicroProse!

Can`t answer the gunner question. All I can say is don`t think `IL2` while playing CFS3 because CFS3 is still rather poor (especially in the dogfighting). FirePower helps much more in immersion, but still has faults.

p.s. Doesn`t IL2 allow you to be just the gunner in bombers while the AI takes off flies around and land anyway?

A popular misconception in that CFS3 is a dogfighting sim - its NOT. It's about the tactical use of bombers and fighter-bombers. :)

cfs3 is poor out of the box, granted. But with firepower and the host of user mods that are available it transforms into a very good sim indeed.
Also we now have the Mediterranean Air War (MAW) addition soon to be released - and it's free!

Gargantou - there's an excellent general cfs3 forum here:
http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/forumdisplay.php?f=7

plus the Sim-Outhouse hosts a great many add-ons.

Pat :)

ps. Yes you can man the gunner/co-pilot and bomb aimer positions in the bombers, in MP as well as SP, just as you can in IL2.

CFS-3 bombers will go on autopilot as soon as you move to a gunner station. I think your autopilot will simply follow waypoints and do evasive manuevers. That's about it though as far as I know. I don't believe that the autopilot can bomb the target for you or take off/land the aircraft. Eventually you'll have to move back to the cockpit.
