OK......
I had a coupe of PM's asking questions about this monster Heli.
So here are some more picts, and the stats on it........
Engine Is a Wren Turbine engine.
The heli measures 10 ft nose to tail, 2.25 feet high.
Its spins custom made 5.5 foot carbon fiber main rotors and 1.85 foot carbon fiber tail rotors
The gauges are Gerber baby food jar lids, with the faces painted in, and a clear epoxy for the bezels, the Toggle switches are all real, The Machine gun belts are Zippers, the landing light is a battery operated miners head light. The rocket launcher is aluminum tubing, that i created to fire rockets with 0.00025 grams of gun powder.( Yes they do explode ) They launch with C02.
The fuselage is scratch built using original blueprints for the UH-1. The door handles are scaled down reproductions of the real handles.....
It took 5 years to build and cost $ 9,800.00 (Minus the cost of the radio equipment)

Re: My R/C UH-1
I'd like to hear it, any vids ? Do you use Phoenix ?
Re: My R/C UH-1
Impressive model. The first picture makes it look like a real one.
Just like RotorWash, I would also like to see a video of that copter in action.
The main thing I dislike with RC copters is that their sounds and rotor rotation speed are most of the time ruining the "realism" of the model.
But some RC aircrafts are really fantastic to look at.

Nice R/C UH-1 Tucker. If you ever make a video of it flying, post it so we can watch this bad boy in action.
