Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,

Scott has been busy running around the US again having all manner of meetings with all manner of people and machines. In this post we would like to show you a glimpse at what these trips are like, why we feel they are important and just give you the customer an idea of what goes on when researching for an accu-sim aircraft.

Very, very cool video. Thanks for sharing!!!
Must be very impressive to be in such a monster ;-)

just one big wish for future developments:

please build up "modern" versions, too!
You can build countless hardcore realistic 2nd WW models, but please think about me and make one "modern" with modern instruments and communications, like this one have in the video.
It's so necessary for me for long time fun and online flying.
Please thing about it...

Thanks

I'm begining to be really scared that soon in the future I will work basically to be able to buy A2A accu-sim planes :| Stop all that quality! :D (No, don't do it, go on with that :P)

By the way, as a generic thought, it would be so cool that in the future the flight and submarine simulators will allow to explore the vehicle walking like in a first person shooter, as seen in this video. Hopefully I won't be as old as joachim by the time ;)

I have this funny feeling that in the near future, I'll be working to learn how to successfully fly a real aircraft ... up to this time I just think I know how to fly them ...

Please Scott. Put in all the stations, working guns, variable weights.

Would it be possible you think, to model the Norden and to be able to control the aircraft function for a bit from the sight?

I'm looking forward to this plane. I do like the idea of a version with modern radios in it just like the one in the video. A stock Nav/Com and the stock Garmin 530 would be great.

The accu-sim B-17 looks like it will be incredible! It's impressive how much work you guys put into your products. Now I have to pay for this stuff on top of my real world flying.

I am truly impressed with the depth of "suffering" you force yourself to endure  . Even better yet is giving us the opportunity to enjoy the result.

Tell me Scott is in Reading PA. More than likely tho he's in or was in Michigan with Yankee Lady. I'll be seeing the crew come this Thursday at Mid Atlantic in Reading. :D

Why does the prop spin slowly while energyzing during the starting of the engine?

The engine spins slowly while the starter is engaged and until the engine starts. The starter only operates at a few hundred RPM but has a lot of torque. With any aircraft engine (radial or inline) the engine will start at such low RPMs by having only a single piston fire which generates enough initial momentum to allow additional cylinders to fire, thus starting the engine. This is why on many engine starts of the sort, you'll get some popping initially as the cylinders begin firing.

Just a thought on the B-17.

Until you've actually had the chance to ride in one of these special ladies, the computer version is just another computer plane you learn to fly. After your flight experience in the "real" B-17, then you truely can appreciate what it takes to fly one. This is no Cessna 172. LOL You are in awe of it's size, power, and what she can and did do. This bomber and the B-24, along with the B-25 are a part of what kept us all free.

When you see one on the ground or in the air, please stop and say a little pray for all those that crewed them, and for all those that lost their lives during WWII to help keep us free. We can't forget them or these beasts that flew so long ago in such great numbers they staggered the imagination of those on the ground. Few remain today so think of them as something very special, for one day they will no longer fly. And if you can in these hard times, make a small donation to any one of the groups that fly them. Best yet, take a ride in one and feel this great beast vibrate beneath your feet.
