I always thought that whine was the supercharger. Thanx for the education. I figured if it wasn't the SC then it must be aerodynamic since nothing else turns at high rpm to make a sound like that.

Here's a link to the Roaring Glory P-51 episode. I recommend buying the DVDs to support the collection and keep them going.

What an excellent video series! Tragic news about the pilot in this video though.

It's probably too late to ask, or hope for on the Accusim P-51, but an interactive walk around would be pretty nice. Marcel Felde, a developer from what used to be Digital Aviation made a DA-20 Katana, known as the Katana 4X published by Aerosoft. He included a fully interactive walk around. Everything from using a dipstick, pouring the oil and coolant, cleaning up FOD that can build up over time, cleaning the windows, clearing the various ports and tubes...even taking the gas cap off, inserting the nozzle, and watching the gas meter click away while you fill her up.

I feel like that would really be an essential part of believing the machine you're about to fly is real. I know that's A2A's overall mission with Accusim. It takes away from that immersion a little bit when you have to shift-3 into a 2D config manager. Just something to think about. I'm so anxious for this release! :D

I imagine that those who frequent warbird sites or Sim-Outhouse will likely already know of this, but I figured I would post it anyway. Back in November, N2151D "Moonbeam McSwine", was put up for sale by Courtesy Aircraft Sales of Rockford, Ill. With a list price of $1,575,000 it seemed to be an amazing bargain for any P-51, let alone one with this history in the airshow circuit. Apparently, it was a stellar deal, because it was only listed for a couple of days before it was sold. There has been another P-51 listed for them for months, N1451D for $1.795M, that is still available. I am not sure why Vlado sold it, why it was listed comparitively cheap, or what the future plans are for it. The Dacy Airshows website still has Vlado listed as the owner and flying it in the 2013 schedule, so we'll see.
