Been thinking of upgrading my computer simply for fsx. I'm running a toshiba x205 sli2. Running max ram and the old t8100 chip. Nothing special but runs. I'm getting frame rates of 20ish FPS. I have barely any scenery running and nothing aftermarket besides the planes of a2a. I have scenery but can't install due to computer limitations. Any thoughts?

I'm thinking about upgrading to Alienware
Intel Core i7-2670QM Processor
Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit), 18.4" WLED WideFHD (1080p) Display
8GB, DDR3, 1333MHz, 2 DIMM Memory
1TB RAID 0 (2x 500GB) 7200RPM Solid State Hybrid
1.5GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M

Is anyone running similar and what's it run like.

FSX is CPU dependent, so a strong CPU, plenty of memory, and a 64bit OS are big items. You have all three, so that setup should do very well. Scott.

I went from a laptop to a desktop - i7-2600k ( currently unclocked) with a gtx 580 . How can I describe it ... like coming out of the stone-age .
Scenery sliders at 5m @7cm , water max , very dense . Extracting more clarity and detail from the screen and flying smooth locked at 30fps . If your serious its worth upgrading , its a different ballgame.
