Came home after a busy day at work yesterday. Was going to watch some Netflix, errr too many session going on from the kids watching netflix on other devices. Idea came to mind to jump in the Jug to hit the skys.

Got a cold one, sat in my seat and hit the power button on my desktop.........nothing.......feet get cold........hit it again......nothing. Sit back take a deep breath......hit it again.......ARHHGG!! Ok pull the side off my pc and get a paper clip to test the power supply.....nothing. Denial sets in. Plug pc into other outlet....nothing. Try other troubleshooting options with no success. I'm starting to accept the fact that my PSU is dead.

Well after 7 years of faithful service out of my OCZ PSU it died. But now I'm sitting here mad that things I wanted to do to relax after a bad day of work fail to satisfy. I just hope that the only problem with my pc is the PSU.

Guess I'll pull out the lawnmower..... :x

I know many of you have had moments of A2A withdraws and I'm going through one now waiting on my new PSU. So lets see who else has had moments like this and here their way to dealing with the problem :D

Kyle

Hehe yes I injured my eye and causing the other to be extremely light sensitive not long after the P-40 was released. For about a week and a half, all I could do was lay down in the dark with my eyes covered...I was bummed....I really really wanted to fly it.. As soon as I could see with one good eye, I had make shift eye patch with a wash cloth and tied a long peice of cloth around my head...it wasn't pretty but it worked. I was able to fly, and thankfully the P-40 was such a solid 'simple' plane good enough for a one eyed pilot. It 'saved' me and proided ample enjoyment...good medicine :)

Cheers
TJ

I had updated video driver software, and was shocked at the loss of performance afterwards. FSX was unplayable.

After nearly convincing myself the PC was now only good for solitaire, I reapproached the problem with a brew in hand - the software by default had under-clocked the GPU to a mere third of its potential. All is well again.

I got blisters on the spot where my right hands rests on the joystick when the p-51 was released. And I had to go buy an E6B when the B-17 was released. So yeah, I guess we are addicts. And this place should be called A2AAA (A2A addicts anonymous)

I sympathise Kyle. Its not a nice feeling being out of action with FSX.
To a lesser extent i lost rudder control on my joystick the other day and now have it assigned to buttons via FSUIPC untill i get the funds to buy a set of rudder pedals. Whenever that will be. The loss of that bothered me abit. I sometimes wonder what i used to do before FSX came along over two years ago for me,lol. Now im enjoying A2A aircraft.

Hope your up and running again soon. Hang in there.

I dont know a whole lot about computers....But i do know that if you have a FRY'S ELECTRONICS near by you could most likly get it their at a much cheaper price then through a computer store.....These places you can walk into and build your computer with just what you want right inside the store....
I bought my home computer from them....Started with the tower, 2 1T harddrives, 8 megs of ram, and 6 USB ports, so far, plus what was needed to get it running for 575.00.
This system is set up now and runs like a champ for the FSX and all the landclass and photoreal scenery i have in it...
Anyways you can also find them online....

Fry's is a great place.... don't have one in B'ham. I build my pc a few years ago, reusing some older stuff from the previous build. It's about due for an upgrade but all I use it for anymore is FSX and typical pc stuff. Thanks for the tip!
