Nice video and a great prep...but they did overlook mentioning the check of the aileron counterweights!! Nasty stuff happens if some of those are missing!!..flutter, uneven control pressure etc.

I have never checked them and they are not on any of the manufacturer or company checklists I've ever used. Where are they?

Underside leading edge, on the inboard of the ailerons. Usually three per side.

I'll look next time I'm out at the airport. I just honestly don't ever remember seeing them nor being told in writing or in person to check them. Our concern has always been for the control clevises and the hinges.

I've never seen anything about that either. Interesting. Is the R model the one that's being modeled by A2A?

I will add some points :

- Spend a least 30-45 seconds checking the rudder cables or connections
- Never touch the rudder where the rudder trim is
- When you are at the tail section look for the 3 tires
- NEVER !!! takeoff without checking your fuel tank with a dip stick, the 172R fuel gauge are rubbish
- And if you don't want 2kg of grease on your hands avoid touching the flaps supports and front wheel suspension, eye inspection is enough

Here's another nice video showing a preflight and the actual flight over the beautiful landscape of California from the viewpoint of a passenger. It's almost like being there. ;)

Btw.: will the A2A 172 have little scratches in the windshield that glint in the sun?

Removed video. Figured I better take it down so I don't get any complaints from king schools. Sorry folks.
