'Crossing the Bar' is a poem by Alfred, Lord Tennyson. Inspired by a boat trip and crossing a sandbar, it is a metaphor for departing this life and passing into what may lie beyond - something which has weighed upon me in recent weeks.

It is beautifully sung here in by The Spooky Men's Chorale, from Australia. :)

Since Paul's introduced a more thoughtful note, I'll continue it with one of my favourite TV theme songs of recent years: the Detectorists soundtrack by Johnny Flynn. AC/DC it ain't!

Alright, time for something a little more up-tempo and lively.

Not my favourite band, but I have recently discovered and started to enjoy this Swedish band who sing about anything related to war, and would best be described as .... hmm, Iron Maiden meets Rammstein I guess? It's nothing overly sophisticated but it sure helps me to push on with decorating or other chores!

Good Thread, so much to choose from ? I will have to post only events I attended, starting with this one.

Cost me two very expensive return flights from Australia to my birth place, two very expensive concert tickets, and two very expensive weeks in London. Was it worth it, waiting to do it all again :)

Gimme some neck.

Add this one two your Phil Collins listen list ? Drum duet with Chester Thompson, best percussion solo I ever heard. Another expensive flight, the family thought I came to visit them 8)

Gimme some stick.
