New Installers on Other Stores

Post by caleb1 »

Are the new installers available for download on Simshak or other stores yet? If not any idea when they will be? I just re-downloaded my planes from simshack and the installers seem the same as they always were.

Thanks
Caleb Byers

Not yet Caleb and it'll probably be a few days before they are. It's important for us to give the new installer tech a thorough test from the new A2A web store before they're distributed more widely.

Thanks,
Nick

Just my opinion and no I am not necessarily humble. Too old for that s***. Why deal with a middle man when A2A store has the best service and all the profit goes to A2A ? If Grandma gave you a gift certificate for some other store that is another story. :D

Agree. Annnnnd...I think any incentive to shop elsewhere for the redeemable points/sales is gone now that A2A's site is essentially giving you 10% off each future order of another aircraft. 80 points = $8.00 off.

The reason I buy from simshack is from the way the British pound translates to the US dollar A2A planes that are normally $50 are $40 on simshack. But now with A2A's new point system that is about to change. I will probably buy on A2A's store now. 1 point is 10 cents right?

I wonder if some sort of paid migration for A2A products bought from resellers might be worth considering, perhaps $5 per item, something like that. Proof of payment, serial no.s etc would of course be needed first. Regards, Mark

Are you saying that for $5 per product, A2A Could transfer your other store purchases to the A2A store? Sounds like a great idea, but what would be the befit? :)

Hi Caleb, resellers can be tricky. Sometimes they disappear overnight, sometimes they stop selling a product due a falling out of one kind or another with a software creator. I have grown wary of using most of them, although the likes of Just Flight and Aerosoft (who are also developers in their own right) and Sim Market seem pretty reliable and stable. It's just a much better experience to buy from the maker and receive updates regularly and on time.

Then there are those (me) who purchased from another vendor because they offer a discount for my flight simulator club. Yes, I am concerned that one day they will disappear, but hopefully the parent company (A2A in this case) will honor any purchases when it comes to updates...

So far they have.

I was buying on simshack because I would save $10 by doing so. I would rather save $10 per purchase then have all my updates on time. I can wait a few extra days for updates. I am ok with that. Now with the points program, I might buy from A2A in the future, but I'm not sure.

Its been a month. Any update on when the new installers would be available on other stores? PCaviator for example is still showing the old installers.

No definite dates at the moment, but it shouldn't be too much longer. The new store and installers were launched on 21 May by the way. That's 11 days ago by my reckoning, not a month.

Thanks,
Nick

He has a point there. It has been a month. They were released in May and it is June now. It's been a month alright. I don't know about you but that's how I see it.
