What a fantastic weekend! And there was me worrying about the weather

Anyway, as always, there were some nice photo opportunities.

Lovely pictures. I wish I could be there on a flying day, but it's a bit of a schlepp for me. The worst of it is that we don't get any airshows in this part of the world lately.

Cheers,
Mike

Fantastic couple of days! 11 Spitfires taking off en masse, what a sound! The pictures I took on my crappy camera don't do justice to the atmosphere.
The 'Balbo' finale is jaw dropping. I just stood there with my tutu round my ankles!

This is from 2015 and the only difference(I could see) was that the Gladiators role was taken over by a Sea Fury.

What a beast! The one that grabbed my attention though and which I named 'Man of the match' was the BearCat. Apparently was a holder of the 'From take off to 10,000ft' record of 94 seconds!

The guys at Reno from what I understand have a very healthy respect for Rare Bear which is a BearCat. By healthy respect, I mean that of all the planes on the field, that is the plane to NOT get caught up in the wake turbulence from. Apparently it is particularly vicious. I am not sure if it is the massive prop on it, the shear horsepower, something peculiar about the foil design, or what, but this is the reputation I have heard about.

Perhaps Dudley has some insight on this.

Regards,
Dave
