Anyone else going to Oshkosh?

This is the place where we can all meet and speak about whatever is on the mind.

Anyone else going to Oshkosh?

Post by thomas_mac »

Heading for my first time and will be camping from Tues-Saturday. Excited to check out the warbird, vintage and homebuilt sections along with the EAA museum and maybe go for a tri-motor ride. 8) Anyone planning to go?

I will be there Monday. Anyone know if A2A is going to be there at all? This is my second year going. I am blessed to live close enough (1 1/2 hours away) that I can make an easy day trip out of it.

No stall or anything this year so I've decided to take the year trip off and spend time with family (often miss birthdays etc lol). However Scott, Jake etc will be wondering around as they are flying in for a few days in the week for some business meetings.

thanks,
Lewis

Nooooo!!!! Maybe I will run into Scott or Jake, but in a place that big I doubt it. Since I won't get to come visit your guys booth Lewis, how about some encouraging words about when I may perchance get my P-51 back for P3D?

Went today. I saw some cool things, demo’d some new products from thrustmaster, got sold on an oculus rift, and met some amazing people. I’ll post some pics if anyone cares, although I didn’t take a ton.

I met Kermit Weeks, and got two books signed for my son.

Saw Kevin Lacey from airplane repo, he was with a group of people.

Met Tucker Gott, this guy is legit in the world of powered parachutes. Go check out some YouTube videos of his. Talked to him about his trip to 15,000 feet in a powered parachute. He said he can go higher, just needs a bigger wing. [FLUSHED FACE]

Sad there was no A2A booth. Thrustmaster has some good stuff coming. I love their new rudder pedals.

If anyone wants pics I’ll post them. Here’s me and Kermit.

I’m at the show all week myself, 17 years in a row.

Any discounts for products this week like there was at the show last year if I recall?

Not this year, we didn't exhibit this year as business has been elsewhere.

I went Wednesday and got flushed out when the night show canceled. At least I ended up getting to see the B-1 leave! I didn’t get to see nearly all I wanted to. Spoke with Piper for a bit since I own a Cherokee. Tried on the new Bose headset, which I really, really want for work! Ate some food, watched the day show and met with United which I hope leads to a job in the future. All in all, we had a great time and look forward to next year!

Nice video. I really miss the Concorde that showed up there.

Awesome! I was trying to explain it to my wife (she left after the day show) but this will do much better! We were already walking out and passed the C-5 when we heard it spooling up and the whole crowd just stopped in their tracks. And I’ll never forget that growl of those four engines as it climbed up away from the storm.
