This is the place where we can all meet and speak about whatever is on the mind.

Fifty years ago tonight I met the lady who became my wife.

In 10 days we will have been married 45 years.

You young guys have no idea what you are in for. :D

Congratulations! I have an idea (and an appreciation) of what we are in for.

I met this really fine girl at SF State on Feb 28, 1966. We got married on Sep 23, 1967. In the A-6 Intruder of Life, I am the pilot and she is the bomb/nav. I make it go hot, low and fast, and she punches in the coordinates of where it's goin'.

What a long strange trip it's been. Wouldn't trade it for anything.

Well, five years and 10 days. :) I figured if we hadn't gotten tired of each other in 5 years we might be able to make it work. :D

And thanks. To everyone.

I posted this because my wife was out with her sister for the weekend and called me on the phone. "Do you know what day this is?" <think> <think> "November 16... the day we met?" I hadn't realized it. Women keep track of these things. I'm glad she reminded me. That's OK, she keeps track of a lot of things for me. I couldn't live without her.

Looking back over 50 years of relationship has been interesting. It has been amazing.
