some confusion about the public rain effect release

Post by MarcE »

Hi guys,

it seems I am a bit confused about the news that A2A has released their rain effects to the public for free. So I would highly appreciate some clarification on that topic =)

- HAS it already been released? Or is it GOING to be released to the public? FSElite has used the present tense so actually I know as much as before :D

- If/when it has been released, will the customers be able to implement the rain system into the airplanes on their own or has this to be done by the developers? In particular: Will I be able to build it into my A2A P-51 and Cessnas or will I have to wait for an update? Same with other developers' airplanes like for example the PMDG 737 that most likely will not get any dev's treatment on this topic?

- If I can do it myself, how?

Cheers and thanks,
Marc

It's pretty specific: ...available to all developers for either freeware or payware...

As a consumer, you'd be altering somebody else's work.

Hello,

Today's release as noted in the title, post and store page is for developers. It's our rain effects, so other developers can use them free of charge to add rain to there own projects.

Later on as can be seen in the shots the rain effect
will be released as one of the updates for the P3D aircraft. The updates are in testing right now.

Thanks,

Lewis,
That is great news that A2A is sharing the technology. Once again, A2A is showing true leadership in the sim development industry. Hats off to the team.
