We are expanding our core code base to have more efficient support for multiple engines. Currently I have our Aerostar as a test bed and the engine won't start (please don't take this as confirmation an Aerostar is coming. We want and intend on making it into a product, but we have projects in development that are taking up our resources. We're just using it like we did with our Comanche to test things).
Here's a copy / paste of a conversation between Rob and I:
ScottA2A: Rob, I'm trying to start the aerostar with the new accusim code, the starter doesn't seem to do anything. Can you verify that the starter in the model is sending the correct command?
RobA2A: How about the autostart?
ScottA2A: That kicks the engine over, and everything seems to work. But the engine doesn't actually fire up and run, but that is on my end i think. I'm just trying to troubleshoot
RobA2A: ok, this is good. I will check the starter
ScottA2A: disregard, this was on my end. It was the breaker, I just had to set it
So now that I have an engine that cranks, I am moving to those areas in Accu-Sim that actually controls the engine firing. And what am I looking for? Air, compression, fuel, and spark
It's just so cool that, as someone who has worked on engines for most of my adult life, I am coming at Accu-Sim using the exact same skill set I developed working on real engines. I expect to have this thing firing up and running sometime today once the problem is found and fixed

Hi Scott,
LOL - I hope you’re not messing around with those old original starters - put a Sky-Tec on them and be done with it - when I upgraded mine - it throws the prop so fast I could taxi around the airport on it and sounds like I should be looking for 20% of N2... I swear I still chuckle every time I hit the starter button...

Not strictly Accu-Sim, but... Once I was doing something with A2A Comanche for which I specifically needed the F1 GTN 650. At one point, the unit had some sort of crash probably related to the trainer application running in background. I don't remember what the display showed but it was nothing the guide would have helped in.
Hmm, I thought, what would I do in these circumstances if this was a real airplane? Well, that's easy enough! I cycled the avionics master off and back on again. Voilà, back in business!
Apparently the power off/on events rebooted something critical in how the trainer software functions and this resolved the issue.
