File with status engine and plane ?

Post by vince_l07 »

Hi all,

For my 3 planes A2A, I look for the name of the file that contains the engine wear and wear of the airplane. (Hours of use and status)
Can I save it and possibly replace it later ?

Sorry if the question has already been asked but I have not found.

Have a Nice day
Vincent

Hi.
It depends on which sim you use and operating system.
I use FSXA on a win 64 bit system , and the files are in My docs\A2A\FSX then the individual aircraft folders , and inthese you will see dat files , some aircraft have the active plus backups other aircraft only have one dat file.
I cannot speak for P3Dv1,2,3 or 4 on win 7/10 systems as i dont have these.

Hello Vincent,

Actually, it doesn't matter if you use FSX or P3D; the subfolders containing the aircraft status *log.dat files will always be found in the folder Alan mentioned.
  • C:\Users\UserName\Documents\A2A\FSX
Thanks,
Nick

Thanks for your explanation, Alan and Nick

I'm withs Windows 64 and P3D v 4.2.

It looks like it's the same path with P3D.

For the C182, I have 3 files with the date of my last flight. It must be one of those where the three can be.

\documents\a2a\fsx\Cessna182

Dme
C182SLog. dat.
f v2_C182SLog. Dat

\documents\a2a\p3d\Cessna182 is empty.

Hi Vincent,

The exact filenames should be:

v2_C182SLog.dat
C182SLog.dat.f
dme

It's the first of these that stores the aircraft status, and the existing version of this file will be backed-up by the aircraft each time you load it in the sim. These backups will have a file extension "bak1", "bak2" and so on, up to "bak5".

Thanks,
Nick
