well when I started the computer it gave the option of going to setup or start as normal. it started as normal so that tells me that it's just the CPU fan that had it's last run. cause if it ruined the mother board the computer wouldn't have started at all.

Sounds like it is time for an upgrade.
I shopped around on e-bay and put together a pretty decent system for around 700 USD.
I got everything.
Power supply, mother board, processor, ram, graphics card, HDD, and even a fancy case to put it all in.
Shop around and you can finds some decent prices. It was definitely worth it.

 I don't need a whole new system. just a fan. it starts up and every thing like normal it's just that my CPU fan gave up the ghost. them are cheaper then a whole new computer. besides that all my A2A flying records are in my desktop. it would take for ever to start from scratch to get those back.

I tried XP recently and decided to keep it.

I really miss the Bo! And more generally speaking A2A quality products.

I read that sadly A2A has no plans to make planes for XP in the near future.

I am curious. What was it about XPlane that made you decide to give up the Bo?

Maybe it's better if they don't. I can hear the weeping and gnashing of teeth already...

What? A2A won't offer a discount to upgrade existing P3D aircraft to XP17? Everybody else does! It's basically the same model! By golly, A2A should even pay me to switch to XP17!

Why would you limit your hobby to a single platform by uninstalling not using your own paid software you already own?

Just because you install one doesnt mean all others break and cannot be used. I am loving Orbx True Earth GB on my XP11 install, the new Heli in AFS, recent WW1 birds in IL-2 Fying circus etc etc.

I just don't get missing something you literally own or can own because of self imposed limits?

thanks,
Lewis

well my limit is right now I don't have a flying computer  have to wait for a new one to come. the one I had is too old to be fixed  so with that being said should I make another thread about FSX and A2A with windows 10?

Exactly! I have numerous sims installed, including both XP and FSX, and I enjoy them all. They all have different things to like.

Also, IL-2 Flying Circus... Ooooh, I did not know that was a thing, I NEED that. I loved Red Baron II / Red Baron 3D way back in the day, one of the most immersive combat sims ever made IMO. Thanks for the heads up Lewis :)

Dave

Hello guys,

I decided to keep XP but I did not uninstall P3D.

What I meant is that I miss A2A AC in XP

Maybe you should open a new specific thread, but quickly, CPU, GPU and RAM are (very) nice. Attention to the drives: 128 Gb SSD for boot/windows is OK but not enough for XP or P3D. And looks like your second drive is not a SSD: 2TB 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s (Storage)
