Latest Acc-Sim Update 02-04-19 for FSX

Post by wblackret »

Just wanted to post this in case someone else runs into this. Applied the update late yesterday. All went well. A few hours later I decided to go flying. First, I was noticed odd characters in the clock, they were correct, just appeared distorted, actually showed F & C at the same time with a slash between them. The ‘:’ in time area was displaced towards the bottom of the time section too, this was in the 182. So I started up the 172, and no cockpit sounds or exterior sound. First step I took was uninstalled all three simconnects, then reinstalled them. Everything is back to normal at this point. Thought I’d give everyone a heads up. It’s not that I think the update did anything adverse, but all was fine prior to the update install. FSX/FSX-SE being the beasts they are sometimes, I just run to simconnect first off.

You all have a great day today!

Hi wblackret,

I am still with FSX Acceleration and will definitely test this tonight and post my experience...

Hi,

Just tested C172 and C182 under FSX and could not replicate the issue with the clock you've described. I have however experienced similar glitch in the clock numbers, but it was gone after sim restart and plane reload.
I have noticed that after the update on C172 and C182 the oil pressure takes a a bit more time than before to rise to normal levels, which I guess is normal in real aircraft.

I have a question about the new update as well. I’m running FSX-SE. I bought the piper cub through Steam. Since the update, I can’t seem to fly the cub anymore. It won’t start, even Ctrl E won’t auto start it. Prop doesn’t turn, and no throttle response.

Does the Steam version of the cub use the same Accusim as the rest of the A2A fleet?

The Cub is completely separate and even more so, this was only a core update that included a single DLL. While anything is always possible, it's highly unlikely any issues with the Cub has anything to do with this update. Did you try just re-installing the Cub?

Great to hear LIZ-WIL! I actually don’t know why I had the issue, but deleting the simconnects and reinstalling them did the trick. I haven’t had to do that in a couple years now. Everything is ok now though. Happy flying!
