This isn't an official answer...
From the time that the SOLO series was introduced (basically they're just individual downloads of the planes on the WWII Fighters disc that preceded the SOLO products) it has been stated here that the A6M cannot be brought up to current FSX standards. It has something to do with how the model was built, that it cannot be recompiled to native FSX. You'll notice that it is not offered as a SOLO product, probably for this very reason.
Regardless, the A6M can display its proper skin in FSX w/ Acceleration. Be sure that you have your "Preview Direct X10" option turned off in the Settings/Customize menu.
