Aircraft sharing with regards to wear & tear

Post by Thaine »

Hei

Several of my friends in my flight group fly the B-17. I purchased it yesterday as well and am looking forward to give it a spin. I would like to have a common set of B-17 for our group that we can share. By that I do not mean shared cockpit in multiplayer, but sharing the plane with regard to persistence and wear & tear.

How is the aircraft state stored and would it be possible to share theses files? Such that one of our pilots could sign in for a specific B-17 with serail XYZ, download the persistence file and put it in the corresponding aircraft folder in FSX. Fly with it. And finally load up the file again to some file-sharing place, such that the next pilot who get's assigned the plane has the updated status of the B-17.

Cheers,
Thaine

Hello and welcome to the forums.

You can share the .dat file in order to share your aircraft between friends. Remember to back up your files though just in case a pilot crashes and has to reset the aircraft in the hanger.

Thanks,
Lewis

That's a very interesting idea. I never thought of doing that before.

No it's actually not there. It's in the documents\A2A\B17 folder. There is also some back up files in this folder.
I always have a copy of these folders on my external hard drive if something should die on me..
Kind Regards
Tomas

A community based aircraft is a great idea except you can't fly in formation or online with eachother
